My latest poetry piece, "Twin Flame," .... The Perfect Balance of Masculine and Feminine Energy!!!

Twin Flame

 ©  2017  Sy’needa Penland

As you gaze into my eyes,
I’m mesmerized;
Entranced in love;
I’m hypnotized.

As you stare into
the pit of my soul,
galaxiesno longer
between us,
exists no more.

No more oceans
between us, as my
loving energy
comes ashore.

For you are the earth
to my rising seas;
the better half of me,
as my fire burns out,
synergy infuses
our flame of love.

Your air carries me
to the black heavens
of the Universe,
where my eternal flame
ignites the starry skies.

When I return to earth,
you embrace my
infinite being,
as rebirth of
your Spirit gives
new life to my
Divine soul.

Latest poetry piece, "Abundant, Loving Grace"...

Abundant, Loving Grace
©  2017  Sy’needa Penland

Divine Mother Universe,
rain down your abundant energy.
Grace thy earth with your presence,
for the sake of preserving humanity.

Fill our hearts with your Divine Love,
from all worlds below and above—
May all things in-between be infused
with your loving Grace, as old habits
are erased to bring about unity
of the human race.

May no boundaries exist between us.
Prejudice and hate, shall no longer divide us;
Only Peace and Love shall emit
from every dimension of our being.

Latest poetry piece... "Umbilical Cord of Life"...

What was born in us
will always be a part of us,
as we are but one particle
of the infinite Universe.
Cosmic seeds of
crystalline particles
of Divine Light,
that will forever shine
upon the heavenly canvas
of her beloved Earth.
Spiritual ties unbroken
to our umbilical
connection to, the all.

My latest poetry piece... "I Give Birth to Poetry"...

I Give Birth to Poetry
©  2017  Sy’needa Penland

With each rhyme and meter
of my poetic verse,
I give birth to poetry...

As my Essence flows
with the iambic pentameter
of the Universe,
I give birth to poetry...

Curses broken
with each word spoken;
A token of love
I give to humanity...

Poetry is my craft of choice,
with my gifted voice,
I give hope to thee;
As I apply rhyme to reason,
with the art of poetry.

As a Spiritual Medium, very seldom do I lend my gift to assist a Spirit during their crossover, but in this case, it was Necessary!!!

Thou Shalt Not Kill!
©  2017  Sy’needa Penland

As Spirits loom,
in dark and gloom,
forgiveness of your
shall not hinder,
a day too soon.

As heaven awaits,
no more lives
you shall take,
as your Spirit is freed
from Earths captivity.

As the new moon sets in,
all is forgiven for your sins,
and your Spirit and Soul
shall never be recycled again!!

Your legacy shall cast
a shadow of Love,
from the Angelic realm above,
as the heavenly doves
bestow humanity’s faith
in Peace and Good Will,
as your mark upon thy Earth
will be a reminder of,
Thou Shalt Not Kill!”

“Stiffy”......... The Image of the Day........ "A Navy pilot drew a penis in the sky. It’s not the first time something like this has been investigated......"

Washington Posts reports, "Residents of Washington state turned their eyes to a clear blue sky Thursday and found themselves staring at a cartoonish rendering of male genitalia, sketched in airplane exhaust by at least one Navy EA-18G Growler jet.

The image stretched hundreds of feet high over the Okanogan Highlands, based on photographs shared on social media. It has spawned a full Navy investigation, with a senior officer, Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker, promising to examine the issue fully and respond.

“The American people rightfully expect that those who wear the Wings of Gold exhibit a level of maturity commensurate with the missions and aircraft with which they’ve been entrusted,” said Shoemaker, who oversees naval air operations, in a statement released by the service. “Naval aviation continually strives to foster an environment of dignity and respect. Sophomoric and immature antics of a sexual nature have no place in Naval aviation today.”

The unit involved, Electronic Attack Squadron 130 of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, flies a two-person variant of the F/A-18 Super Hornet and specializes in electronic warfare. The aircrew responsible has not been identified.

The Defense Department has placed heightened emphasis on sexual harassment and sexual assault in the ranks. And while it’s not immediately clear what this investigation will yield, it’s evident that the Navy is taking it very seriously.

This is not the first time a military pilot has drawn similar images. As the Drive pointed out, a Royal Air Force jet drew what appeared to be a penis in the sky over Scotland in 2014. The RAF later concluded the suggestive smoke trails were caused by a pilot circling in a holding pattern while waiting to land.

In the United States, the Navy’s elite flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels, also was cited in an investigation released in 2014 for painting a giant penis on the roof of a trailer at its winter training home in El Centro, Calif, where pilots could see it from above. The blue-and-gold painting was so large that it could be seen on satellite imagery available on Google Maps, the Navy found.

The Blue Angels’ commanding officer at the time, Navy Capt. Gregory McWherter, was reprimanded for failing to stop sexual harassment and condoning pornography and homophobia in the workplace. Investigators also cited his call sign, “Stiffy.”

“This Commanding Officer witnessed, accepted, and encouraged behavior that, while juvenile and sophomoric in the beginning, ultimately and in the aggregate, became destructive, toxic and hostile,” the Navy’s report said. Under his command, the Blue Angels environment “ran counter to established Navy standards and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and dramatically weakened good order and discipline.”

It’s unclear what fate awaits the pilot in this latest incident. According to a Navy Department manual released earlier this year, incidents of sexual harassment “cover a wide range of behaviors, from verbal comments to physical acts, and can be subtle or overt.”

If the skywriting over Washington is determined to be sexual harassment aimed at someone in the same squadron, service members involved could be subject to formal counseling, negative fitness reports that hurt careers, administrative punishment, or court-martial and separation from the service.

As the photographs of the skywriting circulated online Friday morning, more than 100 people sent stories about the incident to Maximilian Uriarte, a Marine Corps veteran who draws the popular military-themed web comic “Terminal Lance.” Drawing male genitalia is a running joke in his comic. Doing so, he said, is a way that service members joke around with one another in what is still a hyper-masculine culture. “I don’t know how much the culture of these pilots is embroiled in inappropriate things, but I think that drawing a penis is just meant to be funny,” he said. “For some reason, when you get into a situation where you need to draw something, it’s always a penis.”

He paused for a second.

Food for thought….

Mirrored Reflections.....

Mirrored Reflections
© 2017  Sy’needa Penland

Mirrored reflections
of painted illusions
is what thine eyes see,
when I look upon
the face of humanity;

Mother Earthscorned,
as new souls are reborn,
to carry out the evil ways
of mankind’s atrocities.

Tender is her Earth,
as she rebirths
the delicate life
of her floral essence,
to heal her Spirit of strife,
from mankind’s vengeance;

As delightful as her nectar,
which carries the healing
powers of the Divine;
Flesh upon flesh,
is what nourishes the
souls of mankind;
As his eyes remain blind
to his reality.

USA Today reports, "Army lifts ban on waivers for recruits with history of some mental health issues"...

As much as I try to change the focus of my blog, and stay centered with "Positive Energy," more "Negative" news about our military, comes to my news feed and I feel compelled to share my thoughts.  Not as a seemingly disgruntled veteran, but as a person of compassion that is concerned about the lives of others...

When I served on active duty, one of my subordinates, a senior chief Store Keeper, suffered from bi-polar disorder and chronic depression, as a result of his divorce.  We were in the middle of deployment when he ran out of medication and his severe mood swings had a major impact on the entire battle group because we had to rendezvous with the carrier strike group to refill his medication.  Take about a month of HELL and detriment to the mission!!!

Didn't the Army suffer enough with the Bradley Manning bi-polar scandal?!

Recently, General Kelly made it clear, that our young men are "sacrificial lambs," to appease the beast, of our global military industrialized complex, as the Republicans increase the defense budget, to appease GREED, POWER, and WORLD Dominance...  Yet, I'm sure, Trump is happy to appease his buddy, Putin, and the Soviet's gradual rise to power, once again!!

But if you are going to deny transgenders medical coverage, by keeping them banned from military service, this is not fair!!  The cost of medicating service members is not cheap, unless, this is a power move for BIG Pharma?!!  WOW...  They are probably going to use the new "mentally disturbed" troops as human lab rats?!!  WOW!!!!    WOW.!!!!

Lastly, with ongoing sexual violence taking place in the military, and the upcoming agenda to put "women on the frontline" in combat, and the Pentagon's failure to protect women from harm: in the barracks, in the field, in the office environment, etc. and now, you are putting women in "double harm's way..."  to serve in combat alongside "mentally disturbed soldiers"  who may run out of medication, or may snap, while in the line of fire....  Really?!!!!  What the Hell?!!!  Something has to give!!!!

Excerpt from article:
WASHINGTON – People with a history of “self-mutilation,” bipolar disorder, depression and drug and alcohol abuse can now seek waivers to join the Army under an unannounced policy enacted in August, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY.
The decision to open Army recruiting to those with mental health conditions comes as the service faces the challenging goal of recruiting 80,000 new soldiers through September 2018. To meet last year's goal of 69,000, the Army accepted more recruits who fared poorly on aptitude tests, increased the number of waivers granted for marijuana use and offered hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses.
Expanding the waivers for mental health is possible in part because the Army now has access to more medical information about each potential recruit, Lt. Col. Randy Taylor, an Army spokesman, said in a statement. The Army issued the ban on waivers in 2009 amid an epidemic of suicides among troops.
“The decision was primarily due to the increased availability of medical records and other data which is now more readily available,” Taylor's statement to USA TODAY said. “These records allow Army officials to better document applicant medical histories.”
But accepting recruits with those mental health conditions in their past carries risks, according to Elspeth Ritchie, a psychiatrist who retired from the Army as a colonel in 2010 and is an expert on waivers for military service. People with a history of mental health problems are more likely to have those issues resurface than those who do not, she said.

True Colors...

My latest poetry piece... "Holy Divine," May Her Spirit Bring Forth Love and Compassion upon thy Earth!!

Holy Divine
©  2017  Sy’needa Penland

As all things is,
All things are of me.
For I Am, He,
as She is me.

My Sun and Moon
will forever shine,
as I bask in the glory
of the Holy Divine.

As Earth is to Air,
I Am everywhere.
As Fire is to my soul,
passion embodies
my sacred abode.

Water within
Shall cleanse my sins;
Wood is my bones
Cast no stones.

My elementscompound,
as I reboundI Am sound.
No words spoken;
My harmonic vibrations,
a token, of my Divine Energy.

What does it means to be a Military Veteran.....

“I, Sy’needa L. Penland, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

These words hold as true today as they did on 27 September, 1989, when my journey began in the United States Navy.  As a Proud Veteran, I reaffirm this oath, as I continue my fight for Justice.

It was never about the money, for me, but to others, It's all about Money, Power, and Control!!

Military jury convicts Marine drill instructor who targeted Muslims

Washington Post reports, CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A military jury on Thursday convicted a former Marine drill instructor accused of subjecting Muslim recruits to verbal and physical abuse.

After a seven-day trial and 12 hours of deliberation, the eight-member jury found Gunnery Sgt. Joseph Felix, 34, guilty of maltreatment in connection with allegations he targeted three Muslim men at the Marines’ storied boot camp in Parris Island, S.C.

One of those recruits, Raheel Siddiqui, died when he fell 40 feet onto a concrete stairwell. Prosecutors said Felix forced Siddiqui to run back and forth in the recruits’ squad bay and slapped him in the face just before he sprinted from the room and jumped to his death. Two other Muslim recruits accused him of putting them in an industrial clothes dryer and, in one instance, turning it on.

Food for thought:  For reasons such as this, is why I continue my Fight for Justice!!  My prayers go out to Raheel Siddiqui's family, and other victims of Military Workplace Abuse!!

The rapidly increasing crimes, committed against fellow service members, needs to be properly addressed by an independent agency, outside the purview of the Pentagon, or else we will see more cases like this, as more members of "supremacist" groups continue to flood the ranks of our Armed Forces.  And there needs to be an enforceable law against ongoing Human and Civil Rights abuse in the Armed Forces!!

As a Native-African American, former military officer, I was subjected to ongoing Civil and Human Rights violations throughout my Navy career; and I was not alone!!

Throughout the pages of my memoir, "Broken Silence, a Military Whistleblower's Fight for Justice," I provide intimate details of my career experience, as a "minority female," rising through the ranks,  from seaman recruit to lieutenant commander, and the countless obstacles I was forced to endure, to prove myself, "200%" over my white counterparts!!

I decided to write and publish my story to help bring about public awareness, as to the atrocities that are being committed against active duty personnel, by their immediate supervisors.

Over the years, I've stood on the sidelines and monitored military issues, and observed how the Pentagon would rather turn a blind eye, rather than face the issues as it relates to improving Diversity within the ranks.  Even after hundreds of thousands of veterans have come forward with disability complaints, filed with the Department of Veterans Affairs; sworn testimony before the Senate, and Congressional Inquiries, relating to "Rape and Sexual Violence," the military's justice system remains flawed!!

When I began my "Fight for Justice," early on in my case, I was severely punished when I decided to challenge the retaliatory acts that were being committed against me by my immediate supervisors.

I was a seasoned officer at the time, and I knew my rights and I'd previously served as a senior advisor to previous commanders to ensure they upheld the rights of their military staff members.  By challenging their abuse of authority was my way up upholding the "law" and preserving good order and discipline!!"  Boy was I wrong!!  Talk about "not knowing my place," was the lesson they wanted to teach me!!

In late March 2007, I was called to a meeting, ordered by the command's Chief Staff Officer, CDR John Ward.  The JAG officer, (then) Lcdr Mei-Ling Marshall, had prepared a preliminary charge sheet, hoping to intimidate me into signing it, to forgo my legal rights to due process, and I was never read my Miranda Rights throughout the entire legal process!!  Ironically, the Commodore, Capt. John Sturges, was "conveniently" out of the country on official travel when this particular retaliation took place.

A week prior to the meeting, while on vacation, I'd challenged Mei-Ling on her duties and responsibility to "uphold my Civil Rights protection," as an Attorney, required under the Bar Association.

As a member of a protected class, I'd informed them that their behavior was in blatant violation of my Civil Rights and the Chief Staff Officer, CDR John Ward, stated, "I don't give a damn about your Civil Rights," and they proceeded with their retaliatory acts against me.

I vividly describe the details of their behavior in the later chapters of my memoir, as well as their overall motives!!!!!!!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist, or a federal judge to determine that I was punished for challenging the unlawful behavior of my immediate supervisors; which included, but were not limited to: abuse of authority, unlawful discriminatory practices, whistleblower retaliation, fraud against the government and for submitting hundreds of incriminating documents to the Navy IG officials.

Instead of the Navy IG investigator, Dave Brownell,  upholding his duties to protect the government against fraud, he, in turn, protected the interest of his bosses and compromised the "investigation"  from the very beginning; while blatantly violating my Whistleblower Protection.

In August, the Board for Correction of Naval Records FINALLY rendered its decision on my clemency request; it was unfavorable of course... Which is what I was expecting!

In their 11-page finding, they cited over a dozen violations of my "Protected Communication," to include over a dozen "Personal Actions" that were committed against me as a Whistleblower, yet the Board decided to uphold my conviction and challenged me to take my case to a Federal District Court, who has jurisdiction over the Navy?!

Unfortunately, the retaliatory acts committed against me were in blatant violation of my Human Rights, and this is a matter for a Higher Court to decide!

There needs to be a Senate Investigation into the ongoing criminal activity, committed against hundreds of thousands of other veterans, including those that were murdered, to cover-up crimes of Human Rights violations; such as the case of PFC LaVena Johnson, Maj Gloria Davis, and thousands of other murdered victims, whose cases were never properly investigated by the military's criminal investigating agencies.  The NCIS even ignored my case, after it was referred to them by a senior DCIS agent, who was tasked by the Department of Justice Anti-Trust Division, to investigate my evidence.

When the DCIS agent contacted the Navy IG, he was informed that my case was Closed, and there was no need for an investigation; translation, "We don't want to deal with this matter because it involves "High Ranking officials!!"   I digress....

In the BCNR's findings, they stated that I’d failed to provide supporting documentation to support my claims.  Really?!  Yet, in the arguments by the US Attorney's office, while defending the former Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, in my Civil Action case, they stated that the Navy was in possession of thousands of documents relating to my case, and personnel file.   So why did the BCNR failed to review or acknowledge these documents?!

I'm still baffled by the BCNR's final decision, and the blatant incompetence of the reviewing official,  ret. CDR Jessica Pyburn, who stated in several emails, during the year-long wait I was forced to endure, that she was "overwhelmed" with backlogged cases and did not have time to review my documents, yet in the decision letter, the Board stated that I'd failed to provide documents?!  Really?!  SMH!!

For the past 10 years, my case managers were well aware that I never leave a stone unturned, while defending my case, and will overload you with documents to support my claims.  While arguing my Civil Action case, I provided a mere sample of incriminating emails, and other documents, and will furnish more evidence to support my claims of fraud against the government in my next lawsuit.

Interestingly enough, the main documents the reviewing official requested were those relating to the Qui Tam petition that I'd filed with the Department of Justice Anti-Trust division in early June 2009; surrounding evidence of senior command officials engaging in "illegal" revolving door practices and contracting bid-rigging practices, with senior executives of the defense contracting company, Logistics Support Inc, a Veteran "stock-owned" company.

It appeared that the BCNR was more interested in that particular information, rather than upholding Justice, which was clearly stated in the year-long email thread.

Yet, I do recall the last conversation I had with the DOJ Anti-Trust division senior prosecutor, Attorney Shane Cralle, where he'd stated that his boss told him to "drop my case!"  Even after I provided him enough incriminating evidence to launch an immediate investigation.  And years later, the Fat Leonard Scandal, has proven that senior Naval officials have been engaging in fraud against the government for over 25 plus years!!

Without proper checks and balances in place, our military will crumble to its core, much like what is happening to our Congressional body of government!!
