Thought for the day...

Dawning of a New Day
© 2009 Sy’needa Penland

Up against a mountain,
I stand tall.
I’ve weathered the storm,
I fought them all.

They gathered their armies
and slandered my name,
forcing me into hiding
to avoid any shame.

I’ve suffered pain and agony
while living in fear;
running and hiding
the closer they drew near.

Tired of feeling helpless
from not submitting to Da’ Man,
I got down on my knees
and prayed to the LORD for His plan.

I donned GOD’s armor,
preparing for the next battle of war;
still faced with adversity,
I was determined to settle the score.

My enemies stood before me,
their evil words pierced my shield;
I never surrendered to the wickedness
while in the Sorcerer’s field.

I broke away from my silence
and cried out from the mountaintop,
“Demanding PEACEfor this war to stop!”

The arrogance of their egos
forbid them to quit.
To take responsibility for their actions,
they will never admit.

My enemies would rather live in sin
and carry their lies to their grave,
rather than submitting to the LORD
for their souls to be saved.

LORD, this Victory is yours,
I’m forever blessed to have served,
as one of your soldiers
remaining fully committed to your word!

One of my latest pieces, I think this image helps to capture the meaning...

Human Dimension
© 2016, Sy’needa Penland

Through the mouth of mankind
buried souls do speak;
Spirits long forgotten
prey upon the meek.

Voices silenced by anger,
misery, hate and pain;
Fueling the energy of Chaos
which drives the mind insane.

Loving Energy of the Divine
intertwined as One,
Collecting wretched souls
to return them to the Sun.

From whence we came
bears no name;
Yet it loves us all the same

Hollow shells,
this life of hell,
leaves a misery
tale to tell.

Cleanse your pain
from whence you came
to remove their evil,
wretched stain!

ON SALE NOW!! $14.95 until Memorial Day, "Broken Silence, a Military Whistleblower's Fight for Justice," visit

Broken Silence, "A Military Whistleblower's Fight for Justice," is a modern-day Scarlet Letter story of how former Navy Lieutenant Commander Sy'needa Penland was convicted of adultery after she blew the whistle on defense contracting fraud.

Those who operate in darkness and seek to cheat and defraud the government, banded together to destroy the former Supply Corps officer's impeccable career and used her conviction as an "example" to others.

Differing from Nathaniel Hawthorne's romantic fiction, Broken Silence is a true survival story of a courageous military whistleblower's fight for justice

Similar to Hester Prynne in the Scarlet Letter, Sy' was forced to trade her gold oak leaf and stripes she proudly wore on her military uniform for a symbolic "A" of adultery.

Interestingly enough, Sy' was "single."

Adultery is not a crime in civilian court, but the Navy's top brass who went after the honest financial officer knew this could be a tool that would lead to her destruction.

They wanted to "muzzle" her any way they could and used the military's justice system to silence her, until now.

The O'Reilly Factor discusses Campus Reform video, millennials don't tru...

I totally agree with the perspective of the Campus Reform Group, our younger generation should be looking out for the best interest of their future and they should not be pressured to "Jump on the Presidential bandwagon to support any candidate."

Do your own research and make the best informed decision when you get to the voting booth.  Yet a few years ago there was a certain "Energy" in the air that "directed" voters to Vote for Barack Obama and I affirmed several days before the election that I would NOT vote for him until he does right by military veterans that are being raped and sexually assaulted by fellow service members.  On election day, that "Energy" guided me to the voting booth and of course I voted for Barack?!!  Not of my own free will or choice!!  I guess this was one of the many experiments of CERN!!

My take on this year's election:

Are elections rigged, YES!!!

Has Hillary taken full advantage of her seasoned position, YES!!

Do I support Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, NO!!

Why, Both are too self serving for my blood!!

Who do I support for President, Bernie Sanders!

Why, Because he speaks TRUTH of Corruption, which is what our young millennials should be focused on, a more transparent government which starts from the top down!!

Red and Blue Pill- CDC says Atlanta HIV Rates Are Worse Than a Third Wor...

Grady Memorial is NOT the only research Lab that is experimenting on African Americans.  Big Pharma's "Laboratories" are all throughout this country and they are centrally located in the heart and soul of black communities.  Big Pharma also uses our VA hospitals (laboratories) to experiment on military Veterans.  Just look at the growing number of suicide rates, cancers and other diseases?!!!

Unfortunately,  it's the Art of American Warfare!!

More "Injustice and Abuse of Authority," in the Military's "In-Justice System" as Army trials, Maj. Chris "Kit" Martin, for sex abuse,"Alleged" by his ex-wife... My thoughts on this particular "Circus Act" in the military's court of law is, "When you give senior officials this much power, they will eventually go after their own kind!!" reports:

It's never over until it is over.

Friday the 13th, when Army MAJ Chris "Kit" Martin was found innocent of all "sex abuse" charges cooked up by his former wife at his Fort Campbell court-martial, we thought we had plenty of reason for celebration.

Maybe, just maybe, actual justice had been served in a U.S. military courtroom. But we should have remembered that old saying: "Military justice is to justice, what military music is to music." No explanation needed.

JAG lead prosecutor, MAJ Jacob Bashore (remember that name, dear readers), was out for blood. Despite the fact his chief witness, a convicted felon and congenital liar, had failed in her attempt to get revenge on ex-husband Martin for seeking to divorce her, he knew MAJ GEN Mark ("The Hammer") Stammer had expressed a desire to see "Kit" destroyed.

It was Stammer who ignored the fact civilian authorities declined to prosecute Martin. The brutal flag officer is one of the worst sycophantic, "politically-correct" generals in the Army. He was well aware of what the politicians wanted, and insisted a 29-year decorated combat veteran and Army Ranger be crucified, regardless of whether he was actually guilty. Justice takes a back seat to conviction statistics when it means that will take political pressure off the Pentagon.

We have seen men like Bashore before. They are the worst example of aggressive, "the facts-be-damned" killer-attorneys who have no conscience or soul about what they do. There are two types of JAGS - non-lifers who try and retain their honor and integrity before they leave the service, and those who know that promotions and approval come from providing the Command with whatever result they wish. Never mind the "convicted" ones maybe entirely innocent of charges.

The fact that the court-martial panel dismissed the vicious ex-wife's false charges - charges, we might add, that the prosecution swore was the gospel truth - should have raised a big red flag that perhaps the entire proceeding was a farce.

MAJ Martin gave nearly three decades of his life to the Army. He risked his life many times in combat. Can smug MAJ Bashore say the same for himself? Is the newest notch on his gun belt worth what he did to obtain it? The prosecutor should remember, in the Bible it says: "God is not mocked. . . as you sow, so shall you reap."

For the misdemeanors of mishandling classified information on a laptop computer and the specious "simple assault" charges Martin was convicted of, his life has indeed been ruined. Pay heed, all those who read these words. The axiom::The army takes care of its own" has now become "Beware. The Army destroys its own." You could be next.

Food for thought:
For 8 years I've sat back and watched, Generals, Admirals and a significant number of senior military officers; get away with Rape, Sexual Assault, Adultery and more egregious criminal acts - committed against their female and male colleagues, and none of them were "Selectively" prosecuted in the same manner that I was and it appears that justice will not be rendered in this case.

"Rank and Connections" certainly has its Privilege in the US military!!

A special Note for Major Martin, I invite your attorney to refer to my case if this is truly a case of retaliation.

Last month, Judge Rosemary Collyer made her ruling on my Civil Action lawsuit against Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, and remanded my case back to the Navy; citing "Whistleblower Retaliation."  I've yet to hear from Pentagon officials or the DoJ and I've remained quiet for too long.  It sickens me to see another victim of their "In-justice" system!!

Don't Fight them when you get out, it's been 8 years since my trail and I'm still being denied my hard-earned pension.  Fight a good Fight while you are still in!!!

16 Black West Point Cadets Receive Backlash For Raised Fist Photo

I learned of this image several days after it went viral. I was contacted by a military journalist for a quote.  He also wanted to do another feature story on my Civil Action lawsuit against the Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus. Before I had a chance to look at the picture, he was trying to bias my opinion.  I had to remind him, "I've already walked in these young ladies shoes” when I was forced to endure 20 years of “sexism, racism and retaliation” in the Navy, as both enlisted and as an officer.

I hate giving interviews to white journalists because they never want to hear the TRUTH about my overall situation and they end up slanting my story, just to get ratings and sales.

Yet you see it all over military tabloids, how violent our senior officials are becoming; especially towards subordinates. I just covered several cases of military rape and sexual assault, committed by senior officers.  And at least 30,000 Vets have come forward to say they were raped or sexually assaulted while serving in the military.  It's the pressure of War, or "lack thereof."

I served side by side military men (majority white) throughout my Navy career and during one particular assignment as a senior officer, I was forced to serve as the only female for an entire year onboard a Warship of 350 personnel.   You can only imagine my horrific experience and of course, I was called every derogatory name from “Nigger to Stupid Black Bitch” and the Civil Rights laws didn’t apply.  The more I complained, the more I was targeted for further abuse.   They even made phone calls in advance of me reporting to a new command assignment, just to pass the whip to their buddies, which is what I think is going to happen to these young ladies once they go their separate ways.  They are now “Prime Targets for Retaliation” because the “Military’s Elite” do not tolerate insubordination; especially from Black Women!

Keep in mind, the military is not like a civilian workplace where the EEOC manages all complaints of Civil Rights violations.  There is only one justice system in the military, the UCMJ, “Uniformed” Code of Military “In-Justice.”

The public has no idea what goes on behind the military’s Iron Curtain which is why I published a book about my personal  experience, I even talked about how the Army murdered my best friend, a former Major, after she threatened to name a few top colonels and generals that were linked to an Army fraud Investigation.  Like in all cases, they pinned in on a black man who is still in prison.

I pray that Civil and Human Rights violations in the military is soon addressed before another victim of workplace abuse comes forward, or possibly murdered, and I pray for the safety and well- being of these Brave young Soldiers!!  #JustKeepingItReal

Air Force colonel, Eugene Marcus Caughey, charged with, "Rape, Assault, Adultery and other Lewd Acts" is scheduled to stand trial, first motion hearing on June 27.

Air Force Times reports -- The former vice commander of the 50th Space Wing, charged with rape, assault, adultery and other lewd acts, will head to a general court-martial in August, according to the 21st Space Wing at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Col. Eugene Marcus Caughey, currently assigned to Air Force Space Command at Peterson, was charged Dec.10 with rape and assault at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, after in late 2014 or early 2015 he allegedly used “unlawful force” to hold the victim “against the wall and floor” while committing a sexual act, charge sheet documents reveal. He was also charged with various acts of alleged misconduct — which includes taking photos of his genitals while in uniform — dating back to 2013, according to his charge sheet.

The general court-martial convening authority Lt. Gen. David Buck "decided to refer the case to a general court-martial," base spokesman Stephen Brady told Air Force Times on Tuesday. A motion hearing will take place before the trial, and is scheduled for June 27, Brady said.

Caughey, a 23-year Air Force veteran, allegedly committed six counts of adultery between 2013 and 2015, in violation of Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. One charge with two specifications in violation of Article 133 of the UCMJ, conduct unbecoming of an officer and gentleman, states that Caughey took a photo of his genitals while in uniform in his office.

Caughey has been charged with unlawfully groping women on two other occasions, according to court documents.

Caughey, formerly second in charge of the 50th Space Wing at Schriever, is a survivor of the Sept. 11 terror attack on the Pentagon, according to a Schriever release. The 50th Space Wing oversees navigation and communication satellites.

Food for thought:  The Chickens are finally coming home to roost and it’s high time the Pentagon begin prosecuting all the rapists and adulterers throughout the military.  These bastards have gotten away with bullying, assaulting, raping and murdering their fellow colleagues for far too long!

Honestly, I think it’s a severe mental illness and these sickos need to be behind bars, not lurking in the corridors of our military commands!!

All's Fair in Love and War, as Army investigates Racism Within West Point

Oh my...

After reading several articles about this image, without knowing all the facts surrounding such a BOLD display of “Strength, Pride, Courage and Sisterhood” from these young ladies, makes me wonder, "What led them to form such a “Formation?”

“Was it inspired by Beyonce’, the Black Lives Matter Movement, or battling years of Racism in one of the military's elite training institution?!”

According to Soldier of Steel who kicked this discussion into motion for several social media outlets and bloggers to chime in on “Racism in the Military,” I say, “Why not ask those of us who survived the gauntlet of systemic “Racial, Sexual and Gender” inequality while serving alongside our white male counterparts, “The need to form together to get our points across and voices heard, in opposition of racism, rape, sexual assault, disparate treatment and other forms of unlawful treatment while serving our county."

When I first joined the military, the Navy was conducting pilot programs for integration of Women at Sea.   For those of us that were lucky enough to survive workplace abuse, we remained guarded against bullying and disparate treatment throughout our careers.  My case along with thousands of other victims of workplace abuse merely highlights the need for military reform, which is long overdue!

These young ladies enrolled at West Point during one of America’s most crucial junctures of social injustice during our lifetime, kicking off the Black Lives Matter Movement, following a series of young African American men being murdered in the street.  Let's not forget that!!  I’m sure it’s been difficult for both black and white cadets to watch such an “Up Rise” of social unrest while training to become America’s future defense leaders.  Yet this opens the door to finally discuss Racism and all other forms of Military injustices.  As I stated in my previous blog post, this is a matter for President Obama to weigh-in before leaving office.  How can he continue to live with himself as the Commander in Chief while allowing senior Pentagon officials to blatantly abuse its junior personnel?!

Racism in the Military is rampant throughout ALL the Armed Forces and our Boys are taught to “Cover-Up” for one another, just look at how many have gotten away with rape, sexual assault and in the case of PFC LaVena Johnson, "Murder!!"  And let's not forget my case, “Adultery and Fraud” which forces me to beg the question, “Are these the types of leaders you want protecting over your sons and daughters, both domestic and abroad?!”

PFC LaVena Johnson and her father

Lastly, “Do I support such a display of sisterhood while in uniform, I say, “If you stick to the regulations in all circumstances, you can never go wrong!”  But as proven with the outcome of my recent Civil Action lawsuit against Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, “Regulations are always left up to one’s “Mis-Interpretationwhich was the Navy’s excuse for violating my Civil and Human Rights as a Military Whistleblower.

As the sitting Commander in Chief, I would like for President Obama to weigh in on "Military Retaliation, Subsequent Human Rights Abuse and the Military Whistleblower's Protection Act!"..... NAVY TIMES reports,"Navy officer convicted of adultery gets chance to clear her name."

Meghann Myers, Navy Times, "Lt. Cmdr. Syneeda Penland was convicted of adultery and conduct unbecoming, and was forced out of the Navy months shy of her retirement. But Penland swears she was victimized by her command for reporting waste and fraud.

Now, Penland will have a second chance to prove whether she was the victim of whistleblower retaliation by leaders at Navy Expeditionary Combat Command in the 6-year-old case.

A federal judge on April 20 ruled that the Board for Correction of Naval Records must take a second look at Penland's case to determine whether her substantiated claims of waste, fraud and abuse against her command confer whistleblower status, as she claims — and if they do, whether the Navy should compensate her for forcing her out months before her 20-year retirement mark because of a felony conviction.

"From the day that I blew the whistle, which was April 4, 2007, everything that happened from that point forward — they have to consider, what did [the command]  do?" Penland told Navy Times in a phone interview Friday.

BCNR has the power to expunge the results of her Board of Inquiry, which was the basis of her 2009 discharge, and may allow her to regain the benefits she would have received if she had been allowed to retire.

The BCNR cannot unilaterally overturn her conviction, the federal judge in the case noted, and Penland did not ask for that in her filing. She chose to focus on the BOI decision to streamline her case, she told Navy Times last year, because the process is more straightforward than overturning a criminal conviction.

A Navy spokeswoman declined to comment on the April 20 ruling that sends the whistleblower review back to BCNR.

"The Board of Correction of Naval Records will reconsider their prior decision in accordance with the federal court's order," Lt. Jackie Pau, a Navy spokeswoman, told Navy Times.

Penland, a former supply officer who had earned her commission after several years as an enlisted cryptologic technician, began asking questions about Naval Coast Warfare Group 1's procurement practices almost as soon as she took the comptroller job in 2006.

Her superiors didn't appreciate her informal investigation of some of their contracts and transactions, she said, so when a former colleague's estranged wife contacted the command with allegations of an affair, they had what they needed against her.

The investigation into her relationship with then-Lt. j.g. Mark Wiggan began in April 2007, based on sexual photos of her with a man. She claims those photos are of an ex-boyfriend, not her friend and coworker."
