More evidence on U.S. military revolving door practices

A new report from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington revealed that some 70 % of senior military generals are rehired as defense contractors or consulting advisors to consulting firms after they retire from the military.

Project on Government Oversight ( investigator Ben Freeman went on HuffPost Live yesterday to discuss the growing military industrialized complex with John Amick and Michael Hasting.  I spoke with POGO this morning to share evidence of what I uncovered as a former DoD IG investigator/LCDR Supply Corps Officer and subsequent "military whistle blower."

Watch the full video here: and leave a comment below, I would like to hear your thoughts.

Food for thought:
There's already federal laws that prohibit illegal DoD revolving door practices, but are not being enforced by Congress.  I covered this topic several times,

Unfortunately, due to the extreme negligence of the DoD IG and their unwillingness to investigate “their own”, complaints of ongoing illegal revolving door practices are going un-investigated.  Meanwhile, senior military officers are steady cashing in, double and triple dipping from the same pot of "tax payer's money", while still collecting a government retirement pension!

Isn’t this what our former general and commander in chief, President Eisenhower warned us about?!

I recall the day I was promoted to lieutenant commander in August 2006, I was told by a senior officer, "It's no longer what you know, it's who you know... welcome to the club."  This is the day I believe I mentally checked out of the "Good ole Boys" club!

U.S. Marine faces felony charges for molesting a female "pitbull" dog

WTF?!  Was all I could say after reading the latest headline on  I can always rely on ret. Maj. Glenn MacDonald, Editor and Chief of MCC, to report the most bizarre military "sex-related" stories.  I find his latest one to be uniquely interesting, which leaves me to question the motives as to, "What would drive an 11 year active duty veteran to want to exert such sexual aggression towards a female “pit-bull?”

Could this Marine be one of thousands of un-prosecuted rapists still wearing a military uniform?  After watching the DVD documentary, "The Invisible War", I was finally convinced of this silent ongoing epidemic.

White man shoots and kills black student in Florida over loud music

The reported, “A Brevard County man was in jail Monday, accused of shooting a teenager dead in an argument over loud music.

Michael David Dunn, 45, and his girlfriend were in Jacksonville Friday for Dunn's son's wedding when they stopped at a convenience store, Jacksonville sheriff's Lt. Rob Schoonover said.

Jordan Russell Davis, 17, and several other teenagers were sitting in a sport utility vehicle in the parking lot when Dunn pulled up next to them in a car and asked them to turn down their music, Schoonover said.

Jordan and Dunn exchanged words, and Dunn pulled a gun and shot eight or nine times, striking Jordan twice, Schoonover said. Jordan was sitting in the back seat. No one else was hurt.

Dunn's attorney Monday said her client acted responsibly and in self-defense. She did not elaborate.

Dunn's girlfriend and the driver of Jordan's vehicle were in Gate Food Post, 8251 Southside Blvd., when the shooting happened. Dunn and his girlfriend took off afterward, and witnesses jotted down their tag number, deputies said.

They were staying in a Jacksonville hotel when they heard a news report Saturday morning indicating someone had died in the shooting, deputies said. They then returned to Brevard.
Dunn, a gun collector, was arrested Saturday at his home in Satellite Beach on charges of murder and attempted murder. He was being held without bail.

Jordan, who was a student at Samuel W. Wolfson High School, a magnet school in Duval County, will be buried in his hometown of Marietta, Ga. He is survived by his parents and a brother. Jordan worked at Winn-Dixie, according to his Facebook page.

Florida corporate records show Dunn is vice president of Dunn & Dunn Data Systems in Vero Beach. He supervises software development, according to his LinkedIn profile.”

Jada defends her daughter Willow on facebook. Way to Go Jada!!

A recent blog post on discusses how Jada defends her daughter Willow on facebook.  The blog states:  "Many have criticized Will and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith for their daughter Willow Smith's hairstyles.  At just 12 years old, the young singer and actress has been very public about her rock star hair styles, varying from half-bald to hot pink.  Her mom recently took to her facebook page to set the record straight about why they allow it."

Here’s what she posted:

A letter to a friend...
This subject is old but I have never answered it in its entirety. And even with this post it will remain incomplete.

The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women, girls are constantly reminded that they don’t belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It’s also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother’s deepest insecurities, hopes and desires. Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be.

More to come. Another day.

Food for thought:  A mother's love for her children is unconditional!  It's solid...           It cannot be broken... It can not be penetrated... It cannot be shattered.   For when a mother looks at her daughter, she sees herself.

Jada, You are truly your daughter's s'hero!  She is just as beautiful as you, with or without hair!!

STRESS, A Silent Killer

Earlier this week, my mother celebrated her 62nd birthday.  God sparing her life another year serves as a blessing for me and my family, which is why I decided to share with my readers a personal story on the importance of learning how to recognize and manage stress.

Several years ago, at the height of my military controversy, my mom suffered a hemorrhagic stroke brought on by a brain aneurysm.   Through God’s grace she survived the near fatal tragedy, unfortunately the stroke caused major nerve damage to the left side of her body leaving her permanently disabled.

While coping with ongoing stress during my final years in the Navy, each day I would call home to burden my mother with all the horrific details of what I was going through at work.  I was unaware that she had her own stress that she was dealing with as well as those of other family members.

After relocating back home to Georgia, as she continues to recover, there is not a single day that goes by that I don’t ask God for forgiveness from the notion that I could have possibly attributed to my mother’s current health condition.  That’s a lot to cope with, especially for a person who already suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Due to aggravated work related stress, in January 2009 (a year prior to my mother’s stroke) I was diagnosed with an incurable blood disorder, “essential thrombocytosis”, which is when the bone marrow produces too many platelets.  Platelets are essential to blood clotting but the overproduction of them can result in a person suffering a stroke or a heart attack.  As part of my stress management therapy, I’m required to take daily dosage of chemotherapy medication and a blood thinner for the rest of my life, yet I consider myself lucky.

During my plight with the military, I was being treated by multiple medical specialists and one of them ordered enough tests to enable him to detect early, yet severe symptoms of how my body was responding to stress.  After spending 10 hours in the ER,  two weeks before I was discharged from the Navy, I was treated in time (with enough chemo) before suffering a severe stroke or heart attack.

In my mother’s case, my stepfather was given only 7 minutes to make a life or death decision.  After granting the neurosurgeon permission to operate on my mother’s brain, they were able to stop the bleeding ultimately saving my mother’s life.

Food for thought:  Statistics have shown that stress is a silent killer that can easily go undiagnosed.  Therefore, I encourage you to learn how to recognize early signs of stress before it’s too late.

Stress can take on many forms, in most cases it can be recognized in the changes in a person’s physical or mental behavior.  Our bodies are like sponges and can easily absorb and hold onto stress (or negativity) given off by others.    Your stress can easily become someone else's stress.

Last year I posted a blog on the importance of learning how to recognize and manage stress.  I’m reposting a link to a website that I believe provides helpful tips on identifying and managing STRESS.   You can visit it here:

Happy holidays.  I wish you all the best with less STRESS!!

'Malcolm X’: Spike Lee’s masterpiece turns 20

“We didn’t land on Plymouth Rock; Plymouth Rock landed on us!”

Twenty years ago, Spike Lee movie history.  His epic biopic of the controversial and complex Malcom X became cultural touchstone, made Denzel Washington an A-list superstar and cemented his status as a true auteur to be reckoned with.  Yet the film's path was far from smooth and the movie's success was anything but guaranteed.

Peter Cetera ~ The Glory Of LOVE

In the 80's, "Glory of Love" was one of my favorite songs.  Growing up through the ranks of the military, first serving as an enlisted sailor then later becoming an officer, the words in this song would later become an anthem for me.  Imagine having that much love for your country!

US President Barack Obama: no evidence of national security breach in Pe...

New Morehouse college president has White House ties

The reports-- One of the nation’s top historically black colleges has a new president.
John Silvanus Wilson will be the 11th president of Morehouse College. Wilson is the former executive director of President Obama’s White House Initiative on HBCUs.
According to a press release on the school’s website, Wilson’s appointment follows a nationwide search that was launched after the announcement that Dr. Robert M. Franklin would transition from his role at the end of this year.
“Dr. Wilson has the vision, experience and passion to ensure that Morehouse continues to advance its aim of producing global leaders who will continue to make a difference in the world,” said Robert C. Davidson Jr., chairman of the Morehouse Board of Trustees.
Wilson’s role will include maintaining the college’s reputation and making advances in fundraising  and retention.  A 1979 graduate of the college, Wilson returns to his alma mater with more than 25 years of experience in higher education and a successful institutional fund-raising record.
The press release also outlined Wilson’s extensive expertise  in advancing the interests of black colleges through research at George Washington University, his service at Spelman College and his role as director of the White House Initiative on HBCUs.
“John has been a trusted voice, helping my administration follow through on our commitment to strengthen historically black colleges and universities,” said President Barack Obama. “I wish John the best as he takes on this important new role as the president of Morehouse College and as he continues to inspire more of our nation’s youth to pursue higher education.”
Wilson said that he was honored to be chosen to lead his alma mater. He will officially assume the role of president at the end of January 2013.

David Petraeus Scandal: Truth Behind Resignation, Paula Broadwell

Once again, another interesting military/political scandal.

This story is similar to that of Senator John Edwards in a number of ways.... Two highly admired government public figures, investigated by the FBI and each of their careers, families and reputation ruined! After a scandal involving an extra marital affair with a young, career ambitious women.

Some even say that the General's swift resignation just days before he was set to testify about the Benghazi attack is also suspicious.

As the first and only "unmarried" military officer to be charged,  prosecuted and sent to prison on specious grounds of committing adultery, a year ago, I would've been the first person standing in line to protest about the unfairness of my unlawful prosecution, which subsequently led to my wrongful discharge from the Navy just 5 months shy of my 20 year retirement eligibility.

The timeline of the General's affair is sketchy but if I were to guess, I would say it mostly likely began in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, since my conviction I've been able to keep track of a large number of military officers who's been accused and openly admitted to committing adultery, yet none of them were ever charged nor prosecuted for committing... what the military considers a felony crime.

In my honest opinion, the military needs to banish there "so-called" adultery law all together.  In my 20 years of active military service it was never used to prosecute anyone, unless "all else fails"...

After watching this video, I have nothing but sympathy for the highly respected General.

Being an older man, he probably got so caught up in the love affair with his young mistress, he thought nothing of his duty and responsibility to honorably serving our country, especially his wife!

Dozens of white supremacist gang members charged

HOUSTON (AP) reported — Four top leaders of the white supremacist Aryan Brotherhood of Texas are among nearly three dozen alleged gang members charged in a sweeping indictment unsealed Friday that accuses them of crimes ranging from capital murder to drug trafficking.
Few details were released about the alleged crimes, but 10 defendants are facing charges that carry a death penalty. As examples of the gang’s brutality, the indictment says one leader ordered a subordinate to kill a gang prospect and return his severed finger, and another was told to burn a tattoo from a member’s arm for not following an order.
“Brutal beatings, fire bombings, drug trafficking and murder are all part of ABT’s alleged standard operating procedure,” Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breurer said in a statement. “As charged, ABT uses violence and threats of violence to maintain internal discipline and to retaliate against those believed to be cooperating with law enforcement.”
Only three people named in the indictment haven’t been arrested. Sixteen people were arrested Friday across Texas, while 15 others were already in custody, prosecutors said, adding that the arrests capped years of investigation.
All are charged with racketeering conspiracy. Some were charged with involvement in at least three murders, multiple attempted murders, kidnappings, assaults and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
A message left for the U.S. Attorney’s Office seeking more details about the alleged crimes and those arrested wasn’t immediately returned Friday.
The military-style gang was founded in Texas prisons in the 1980s to offer protection to white inmates if they joined. Modeled after a similar gang that surfaces in California prisons in the 1960s, members often use hand signs symbolizing their participation and have Nazi-themed tattoos.
Investigators say the gang works as five regions, and that four of those charged were “generals” who controlled activities in a region while supervising the gang’s overall activities, including issuing orders to kill in a steering committee known as the “Wheel.”
The leaders were identified as Terry Ross Blake, 55; Charles Lee Roberts, 68; Larry Max Bryan, 51; and William David Maynard, 42. Blake and Roberts were arrested Friday, while Bryan and Maynard were already in prison. Home phone numbers weren’t listed for Blake or Roberts, and court documents didn’t yet show any of the men had retained attorneys.
According to the indictment, Bryan is facing charges in the fatal shooting of an ABT prospect member who allegedly stole drugs he was ordered to deliver to a customer on behalf of the ABT in Pleasanton, south of San Antonio. Bryan could face the death penalty in the case.
The charges against Maynard include the murder of a fellow gang member. He also could face the death penalty.
Bryan, sentenced in 1991 in Bexar County to 30 years for heroin delivery, is eligible for parole next year. Maynard arrived in 2003, with a 75-year term for murder conspiracy from Travis County. It was his fourth conviction.
Four women were among those arrested Friday, including one in North Carolina. U.S. Attorney’s spokeswoman Angela Dodge said she didn’t have details about the North Carolina arrest. Prosecutors said that while women are not allowed in the gang, they aid members by using phone calls, the Internet and the postal system to pass along communications that include orders to kill or assault.

CIA Director David Petraeus RESIGNS, Cites Extra-Marital Affair

The Racist States of America: Shocking map reveals hateful tweets following Obama's re-election

A great deal of Americans were justifiably upset when Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney lost the election. But rather than using social media to express their frustration and disappointment in an elegant way, many Twitter users instead used the platform to post shockingly racist tweets, calling President Obama a ‘n*****’ and a ‘monkey.’

A map collected by Floating Sheep, a collective of geography academics, shows the shocking demographic of racist 'hate tweets,' many of them collected from states that were won by Romney.

GMOs - Suspected culprit in devastating 'fiber disease'

Courtesy of (NaturalNews) Straight out of a sci-fi horror film, a mysterious disease that produces sores, rashes and sharp fibers beneath the skin may be linked with genetically modified organisms. Along with bug-like crawling sensations, Morgellons disease causes other alarming symptoms: extreme chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, short-term memory loss and impaired thought processing; attention deficit, bipolar and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Severe depression and a propensity toward suicide are also common.

One of the first documented cases of Morgellons in the U.S. concerned a three-year-old boy who had multicolored, plastic-like fibers emerging from an irritated patch around his mouth. Ms. Leitao, the boy's mother and also a biologist, was both horrified and confused about the condition. Numerous physicians supplied creams for scabies and eczema, but nothing relieved her son of the relentless itching and discomfort described in three-year-old language as 'bugs.' Doctors were at a loss, even recommending "Ms. Leitao would benefit from psychiatric evaluation and support," according to Dr. Heldrich in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article, "Mom fights for answers on what's wrong with her son." Dr. Wymore, an assistant professor of pharmacology and physiology at Oklahoma State University, contacted Leitao in an attempt to classify the disease. He found that "fibers from different people looked remarkably similar to each other and yet seem to match no common environmental fibers."

Morgellons is primarily found in the United States -- mainly California, Texas and Florida. All three states just happen to be the predominant U.S. growers of genetically modified Bt cotton. Over 10,000 families who felt they had at least one family member with the disease registered with the Morgellons Research Foundation. 24 percent of registered families were clustered in the San Francisco Bay area.

Perplexing fiber disease - GMO driven?

Dr. Rima Laibow, medical director for the Natural Solutions Foundation, suspects Morgellons is caused by genetically modified organisms. After studying the skin fibers, it was discovered that they contain DNA of both fungus and bacterium used extensively in GMOs. The fibers consist of cellulose and cannot be made nor broken down by the human body. According to Laibow, "...GM technology apparently has, like Professor Frankenstein found, a way to animate the non-living. These fibers twist and twine, grow and divide. In short, living beneath the skin of people, they form parasitic lesions out of what should be non-living material but which, through the horror of genetic modification, has taken on the characteristics of a living thing."

A letter received by Laibow documented how GM 'bio-active textiles' may actually be the cause of Morgellons. A handful of university labs have created textiles with genetically manipulated e-coli bacteria, chemicals, nematodes and proteins infused into their structure. The technology was then sold to textile manufacturers for broad scale applications. The fibers found in the fabric have striking similarities to the fibers found in the skin of individuals suffering from Morgellons. Both are composed of cellulose, have 'helical coil type tendencies' (a genetically manipulated trait), autofluoresce (also seen in genetic manipulation) and contain DNA of genetically modified bacteria.

Whether caused by unknown variables, GM food or clothing, Morgellons disease is a devastating modern affliction. Considering the rise of the disease parallels the introduction and infiltration of GMOs into the textile industry along with the food supply, it is not worth the risk to consume or wear anything that is genetically modified.

Law professor examines Jay Z’s infamous ’99 Problems’ lyrics

The reports – “Caleb Mason, an associate professor of law at Southwestern Law School has written a legal review of Jay Z’s infamous hit song “99 Problems”.  The song’s lyrics are intended to be a re-enactment of a traffic stop on the New Jersey highway where Jay-Z allegedly encountered a police officer who attempted to search the rapper’s car for drugs. Jay-Z maintains that the song is based on an actual event where he was able to evade search and seizure when the rapper was stopped while smuggling drugs in a hidden compartment in the sun roof of his vehicle.

The I-95 corridor is a well-known drug trafficking route the rapper traveled years before his hip-hop career catapulted him to fame and fortune. Mason argues that the lyrics from the second verse, where Jay-Z objects to a search of his locked trunk and glove box, perpetuate an incorrect perception of how the Fourth Amendment works.

Click here to read the law review article on how the Fourth Amendment factors into the second verse of “99 Problems.”

The article was written in July of this year, but was resurrected after the rapper's support of President Obama in Ohio yesterday.

Gabby Douglas Graces the December Issue of ESSENCE

Courtesy of
“In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!” –Gabrielle Douglas
ESSENCE is proud to honor extraordinary Black women each month, and in this issue it features its “2012 Women of the Year” — including Gabrielle Douglas, First Lady Michelle Obama, Robin Roberts and more!
In the cover story Gabby Takes Flight, see what life has been like for “America’s Sweetheart” after making Olympic history — and why she continues to steal our hearts today.
Plus, ESSENCE remembers the shared triumphs (Serena’s top wins at Wimbledon, the Olympics and the U.S. Open), personal storms (Sybrina Fulton’s fight for justice for slain son Trayvon Martin) and bittersweet good-byes (to Whitney, Donna, Ms. Melodie and more) that made us cheer, grieve and strengthen our resolve.
Food for thought:  As a former minority female officer and survived victim of military workplace abuse, I used my gift as a natural writer to craft the pages of my memoir, "Broken Silence, a military whistleblower's fight for justice".

While writing my story, I drew strength, wisdom and courage from some of the most highly respected, honored and admired African American writers of our time, and the heroic tales of Native American Indian warriors, as a means of honoring my ancestor's military heritage.
In my poetry book, "Essence of Black Beauty", you'll see examples of my use of candid imagery and view on spiritual and social related issues. I apply this same writing style throughout the pages of my memoir Broken Silence and welcome you to visit my website for more information about my story.
