Maya Angelou - Power Of The Word

Film Sliming Obama Parents, Hits Swing States

Since the release of the right-winged film about President Obama, I’m surprised the President have not exercised the “Sedition Act”, to finally put an end to the Republican Tea Party relentless bigotry.

You can read a review here:

Below is an excerpt of the Act.

I’m sure his relative, “President James Madison”, hailed as the “Father of the Constitution”, would want Congress to put an end to centuries of hate and ongoing racial feuding.

Like my Native American ancestors, he’s probably turning in his grave.

Chap. LXXIV.—An Act in addition to the act, entitled "An act for the punishment of certain crimes against the United States."
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembledPenalty on unlawful combinations to oppose the measures of government, &c.
Ante, p. 112.
That if any persons shall unlawfully combine or conspire together, with intent to oppose any measure or measures of the government of the United States, which are or shall be directed by proper authority, or to impede the operation of any law of the United States, or to intimidate or prevent any person holding a place or office in or under the government of the United States, from undertaking, performing or executing his trust or duty;

ALL things are possible if you trust and believe in God

Decisions
©2009 Syneeda Penland

Sitting here numb
my thoughts are frozen in time.
Wondering, how did I get here?
Stop!
Let me rewind.

Retracing my steps,
revisiting each decision I’ve made,
subsequently sitting here pondering;
“For a better life, would I trade?”

The cost of Freedom is priceless
no more conforming to the norm.
My life is now my own
no longer will they bring me harm.

To be a prisoner of an institution
filled with of lies and deceit,
those wearing the uniform of top brass
from our pockets they cheat.

As a proud American
it was an honor to have served,
defending our country,
a Free Nation” is what we deserve.

I did not go along - to get along,
yet I stand behind my conviction,
which is remaining fully committed to the LORD,
his word and his powerful intervention!

More workplace abuse in the U.S. Navy

As if the military has not received enough bad press after the federal lawsuit, filed last year by dozens of victims of sexual assault and rape, depicted in the documentary “The Invisible War”, it appears that it’s going to take an act of congress to put an end to the ongoing abuse of our military veterans.  Order the Dvd here: http://invisiblewarmovie.com/

In the October 1st issue of the military tabloid Navy Times, the front page titled “PURE HELL”, is the story of hazing against 167 recruits who were forced to conduct physical training exercises in their own waste; urination and feces.  Read the article here: http://www.navytimes.com/

While veterans are willing to put their lives on the line everyday so Americans can sit-back and enjoy their “wanna be” lifestyles of the “rich and famous”, depicted by the countless, in my opinion, senseless reality TV shows.  Sadly enough,  it appears that no one seems to care about the ongoing abuse and human rights violations of our military veterans.

For those of you who have an ounce of care and concern left in your heart to help US, I make a plea to you to help US petition Congress and President Obama to amend the 1964 Civil Rights Acts to provide for better protection of ALL Americans human rights

Furthermore, without our military veterans, American citizens will not have the freedom and liberties WE have become so accustomed to.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
A Proud Military Veteran

                © 2010 Syneeda Penland

Staring back at me, at times
with a twinkle in my eye.
Able to reveal what I’m thinking
whether it’s the truth or a lie.

            Able to detect the joy
or the sadness that I feel,
            looking beyond a painted illusion
            exposing what is real.

A lonely spirit whose soul is lost
            becomes vulnerable to human needs.
Man’s desire to feed upon the flesh
by destroying faith and planting seeds.

You can’t hide from what you see before you,
a painted illusion, an art of perfection.

The eyes are a pathway to your soul
and so is the mirror of
            Self - Reflection.

Help a Child in Need

Take Back Our Children
© 2010 Syneeda Penland

How do we take back our children?
I ask myself this question
Each time I hear a news story talkin’ bout…
“A young black boy or girl gettin’ shot.”

How do we take back our children?
I ask myself this question
Each time I hear a young black mother
Tellin’ her daughter,
Who’s less than five years old,
“Go head baby gurl, that’s right,
Do it like ya’ moma and
‘Drop it like it’s hot!”

How do we take back our children?
I ask myself this question
Each time I hear a new rap song
Playin’ on the radio, talkin’ bout…
“Clockin’, droppin’ dollars
Or pimpin’ hoes.”

How do we take back our children?
I ask myself this question
Each time I hear a young black woman
Talkin’ ‘bout…
“Gettin’ her hair and her nails done
Before goin’ clubin’  to look for a new man,
To buy her some mo’ tight-fittin’ clothes.”

How do we take back our children?
I ask myself this question
Each time I hear a new statistic
On the news or the internet,
Talkin’ bout…
“Black on black crime,
Or young black children
Growing up without their parents,
Being raised by other family members
Or forced to live in a foster home,
Or in the streets
‘Cause their mom or dad is dead,
Addicted to drugs,
Or in prison - doin’ time.”

How do we take back our children?
We take back our children,
By taking back our communities!

A poem in celebration of my Mother

I am My Mother’s Daughter
©2009  Syneeda Penland

When I wake up every morning
And look in the mirror to see my face,
I realize…
I am My Mother’s Daughter!

When I look at my smooth brown skin,
My kinky hair and the twinkle in my eyes,
I realize…
I am My Mother’s Daughter!

When I notice the strut in my walk,
My sassy style, or at times the tone in my voice,
I realize…
I am My Mother’s Daughter!

When I exude the courage, strength and wisdom
To get me through hard times,
I realize…
I am My Mother’s Daughter!

No matter how many times we try to change ourselves
Or deny who we truly are,
We can never change or deny our heritage,
Which is You, who I see in Me.

I am truly blessed to be,
My Mother’s Daughter!

Whoopi Goldberg fires back at Mitt Romney: ‘I used to respect you’

Today the grio.com reported -- Actress and “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg took to Twitter to fire back at Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who was caught on tape during a May fundraiser saying four of the five morning show hosts are “sharp-tongued and not conservative, especially” Whoopi.
Romney made the comment to donors at a $50,000 a plate Boca Raton fundraiser that was surreptitiously recorded. His campaign has been rocked by the revelation of his comments that 47 percent of Americans will vote for President Obama no matter what, because they are dependent on government, feel “entitled,” and pay no taxes. But he also talked a little pop culture, saying in answer to donor who wanted to see him do more television — because “a lot of women especially don’t watch debates…” Romney lamented that “Regis [Philbin] is gone, speculated that late night host David Letterman “hates” him for going on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” more often, said appearing on “Saturday Night Live” can appear “slapstick” and “unpresidential,” and offered this critique of “The View:
… The View is fine. Although The View is high risk because of the five women on it, only one is conservative. Four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular. Although last time I was on the show, she said to me, “You know what? I think I could vote for you.” And I said, “I must have done something really wrong.”
Goldberg fired back late Wednesday, in a Twitter rant in which she said she did previously respect Romney for his support for healthcare in Massachusetts, but no more:
“I once had a great deal of respect for you and many of ur stances,” Goldberg Tweeted. “You believed like Teddy Kennedy in healthcare and a woman’s right to choose and u seemed to actually care about ur people. That was the man I said was someone worth voting for & I said it publicly … Today I understand that while talking to like minded folks you took a respectful observation and wondered what you had done wrong to garner that kind of interest from me. Well Mr. Romney the man I was talking about turned into a man who flushed his ideals down the drain, only to emerge as a confused candidate…”
And the actress went on to accuse Romney if standing with “a group who stands on the steps of congress and spits on lawmakers,” an apparent reference to the tea party, members of which were accused of spitting on African-American members of Congress during the debate over healthcare reform in 2009.
Whoopi wasn’t the only “The View” cast member taking shots at Romney over his comments. On the show Wednesday, comedienne Sherri Shepherd said of Romney: “If you can’t handle four sharp-tongued women, how are you going to handle the country?”

Equal Justice for All

Last Friday, Wavy 10 in Norfolk Va. covered the retirement ceremony of one of the Navy’s most senior high ranking Admiral’s, Admiral John. C. Harvey, a 1973 graduate of the U.S. Navy Academy.  In the article, linked below, the admiral proudly reminded us on how the U.S. Navy’s Fleet rapidly responds to a world crisis.  Yet the article also indicated his uncertainty, as the Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command to deal with a local crisis after a Navy jet crashed in Virginia Beach.

Several years ago, during his retirement ceremony, the first Type Commander of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command retired Admiral Donald Bullard, also expressed remorse at his retirement ceremony.

The remorse was most likely due to his command logistics and budget office mismanagement of a defense contract which was used to re-hire a significant amount of senior retired officers and their buddies.  Most who had previously worked on his staff, as well as the Pentagon's staff.  The contract was "sole sourced", in better words it was rigged.

My previous blog posts details the negligence of each of these commands with regards to protecting whistleblowers as well as U.S. tax dollars.

I can’t express it enough, Mitt Romney and his corporate friends are not the only ones who are benefiting from the hard earned dollar of America's middle and lower class citizens.  So are senior members, both active duty and retired, military officers.  They are some of the worse culprits of lobbying congress to allocate more of our tax dollars towards defense programming, meanwhile, the sick, elderly, poor, middle and lower class will continue to suffer.

There is no need for me to continue to beat this dead horse, because it appears that Americans would rather complain about what President Obama has NOT done for them, instead of voting out of office crooked Senators and Congressmans who are also bilking our pockets.

This upcoming election is a very important one because it will determine America’s course for the future.  President Obama is steering the course to move America FORWARD, not redirect our course back to the past.

In his lecture in 1844, Ralph Waldo Emerson quoted: “As nothing sharp shall warp me from the belief that every man is a lover of truth.  There is no pure lie, no pure malignity in nature.  The entertainment of the proposition of depravity is the last profligacy and profanation.  There is no skepticism, no atheism but that.  Could it be received into common belief, suicide would unpeople the planet.”

As a modern day poet, I admire the quote of the late Rodney King, “Can we all just get along”, after he was beaten by LA cops and the incident was caught on camera.

In July 2009, while serving as the 54th chief of naval personnel/OPNAV N1 and as the director, Navy staff (OPNAV), Admiral Harvey authorized an illegal discharge to separate me from the U.S. Navy, after I had already served 19 years, thereby grandfathering me from being illegally discharged.

Like Mitt Romney stated, I guess we are all victims of something (crime) or another, yet we are still begging and seeking restitution.

All I’m seeking is equal justice, like every other victim and hard working American.

This is an awesome gospel song that helps me begin my day

Mitt Romney Leaked Fundraiser Video "Full Video"

Adultery, in many states, is still a crime

According to this 2010 article in USAToday, adultery is still viewed as a crime in many states, as well as in the U.S. military.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/forum/2010-04-26-column26_ST_N.htm

A few years before the article, I was charged, fined, convicted and "fired" (discharged) from the Navy without my retirement pension, on specious grounds of committing adultery, as a single "un-married" woman.

Like you, my head is still bobbling around on that one...  :)

How can a single person be charged with committing adultery, if they don't have a spouse?  Only behind the iron curtains of the Navy!!

Read about my story here... http://www.syneedapenland.com/

Meanwhile, Senator John Edwards, admitted he committed a moral sin, even though the DoJ never charged him with committing adultery, long after he fathered an illegitimate child during the time his late wife was sick and dying of cancer.

Throughout military history, sex has always been considered the "spoils" of war.  Just look it up on the internet...

Having served in the U.S. Navy with predominantly men, I personally witnessed and experienced the necessity of having to relieve your energy... Or should I say sexual drive...

Given the growing military rape epidemic, some things never change. When I served as the only female, at a number of my former Navy commands we learned how to control these urges, nowadays it appears that the current military directors and military commander's in chief have yet to learn how to control these young men and women's sexual urges.

The growing military rape epidemic sheds light to what is really going on behind the military's iron curtain  Order a copy of the documentary "Invisible war", to see and hear the real life testimony of the victim's stories.......http://invisiblewarmovie.com/page.cfm?id=86

If you are a victim of a hate crime, sex crime, bullying crime, race or gender discrimination crime and feel as if your human rights have been violated by someone, especially in the workplace, I ask that you help me to petition the President to provide US better protection of our human rights.

As military disabled military veterans, we must take a stand and do what is right, which is to petition Congress for better protection of our human rights, by demanding they enforce that  military commanders adhere to abiding to the U.S. Constitution.

There should be NO deviance!

If it is determined, both past and present, military officials abused their authority over another human being, we should call for them to be punished under the laws of our founding fathers!

May God Bless America

More nude photos of members of the British Royal Family

"Topless photos of Kate draw deep royal dismay"
Today CBS News reports -- (AP) PARIS — Photos apparently of Prince William's wife, Kate, sunbathing topless in the south of France were published in a French magazine Friday, and an aide to the royal couple said they were "hugely saddened" to learn about the images.
Today CBS News reports -- (AP) PARIS — Photos apparently of Prince William's wife, Kate, sunbathing topless in the south of France were published in a French magazine Friday, and an aide to the royal couple said they were "hugely saddened" to learn about the images.
The royal family said it was considering legal action for a "grotesque and totally unjustifiable" invasion of privacy in the same country where William's mother died while fleeing paparazzi.
The photos in Closer, a magazine that's among a newly popular French genre of gossip tabloids, were blurry and shot from a distance. The publication claimed they were taken on a guesthouse terrace in France where the couple vacationed this month.
They represent the first significant press challenge for Kate and William, whose mother Princess Diana died in a Paris car crash while being chased by photographers. Royal officials, who demanded anonymity in line with palace policy, condemned the decision to publish the images.
Food for thought:  This came after Kate and William visited the Kranji Commonwealth War Crematory located in Kranji, Singapore and is the final resting place for Allied soldiers who perished during Battle of Singapore, during World War II.

Re-Elect President Barack Obama this November 2012

“This is a tumultuous time that we’re in. But we can, and we will, meet those challenges if we stay true to who we are, and if we would remind ourselves that we’re different from other nations. We’re different not only because of the incredible landscape that God has given us; we’re different because we’re a nation that’s bound together by a creed. We’re not made up of a single tribe or a single religion or a single race. We’re a collection of people from all around the world who came here because of a certain set of principles — the idea that all men and women are created equal; that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights. That’s what binds us together. That’s what our flag means.

“But we also believe that these are not just American rights. We believe these are universal aspirations, and they’re held by people who live in tiny villages in Libya, prosperous cities in Europe. That’s our light to the world. And our task, as the most powerful nation on Earth, is to defend and protect and advance our people, but also to defend and protect and advance those values at home and around the world. That’s what our troops do. That’s what our diplomats do. That’s what our intelligence officers do. That’s what our citizens do. That’s what we believe. Those are the values that we hold to.”

— President Barack Obama, today in Golden, Colorado

Fighting to Survive
© 2009 Syneeda Penland

Catch me I’m fallin’,
Protect me before I hit the ground,
My mind’s goin’ round and round
On their walls I pound,
Their walls will come tumbling down!

‘Cause I’m a fighter,
Hear my cry!
I’m fighting to survive

They tried to attack my character
And my pride,
What I possess inside.

I fought back
Like I knew I should!
They never thought I could
Stand my ground.

On their walls I pound,
Determined to hold my ground,
I will not back down!

The mighty roar of a Lion,
Out loud I cry!

I will hold my head high,
High above the clouds
From the mountain top,
I will not give up!
I will not stop!

‘Cause I’m a fighter,
Fighting to survive!

Tribute to our Fallen Soldiers, "A Mother's Prayer"

Image created by The Large Art Company, visit their website at www.LargeArt.com

A few weeks ago, after losing her youngest child, my aunt asked if I would write a letter of sincerity on her behalf, for those who paid their condolences to our family.  As one of God's special children, my cousin is now serving in OUR Father's heaven watching over each and every one of us.

In tribute to the Anniversary of the U.S. 9/11 war, I decided to share the letter because I feel it sends a special message to ALL MOTHERS who recently lost the life of their youngest child, especially our military veterans, who were all willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of preserving humanity.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A Mother's Prayer
© 2012 Syneeda Penland

To whom it may concern,

I want to thank you for your thoughtful words of condolences and kindness as my family and I continue to celebrate the life of my son.  May his blessed spirit always be felt as we continue to celebrate his legacy, yesterday, today and always.

When a mother is faced with the decision to lay to rest one of her children, it is one of the most heartfelt decisions she ever has to face; especially when it’s her youngest child.

Throughout our children’s lives, we are tasked by God to watch over them soon after giving birth.  As we watch them grow, God orders our steps to take a step back, as he guides them the rest of the way through life.

Within our children, we pass on all the teachings and blessings bestowed upon us by our heavenly Father.  No matter the trials and tribulations, either we or our children may go through, God is always guiding our path.  It is when we are faced with passing the final test in our life, is when we reach that final stage to earn ourselves a place in God heavens.  If we shall pass this test, we will then earn ourselves a shining Star.

There are not enough words in the English language to describe how my son unselfishly fulfilled his duties to serving God.  All throughout his life, he touched so many hearts with acts of generosity, kindness and unrelenting heart.  To many, he will truly be missed.

As his birth mother, I too was able to fulfill my duties and responsibilities to God by raising such a remarkable servant to our Heavenly Father.

For he is my Sun, my Rain, my Pain, my Joy and my Salvation, because now, he is always watching over me, as one of God’s brightest shining Stars.

Sincerely,
A Mother

Is the U.S. Military still engaging in "Selective Prosecution"

Col. Stephen E. Spelman, left, a candidate for Hampden district attorney, and Chief Trial Judge Zuhayr Abd Al-Sahib, of the Central Criminal Court of Iraq, attend a presentation ceremony for a new courthouse and administration buildings.

Editor in Chief of Military Corruption, Ret. Major Glenn MacDonald quoted in his latest story...

"As we have said here a number of times in the past 12 years, in the military it is DIFFERENT SPANKS FOR DIFFERENT RANKS. Hammer the enlisted people and NCO's, while the fat cats and brass hats are let off with a "slap-on-the-wrist."

Read the full article here, the complete bio on Col. Spelman, and of course compare it to my story.  And you will see TRUTH to the above statement!

http://www.militarycorruption.com/colstephenspelman.htm

Food For thought:  Why was Col. Spelman not charged with "Conduct unbecoming an Officer", like I was!!??  Oh yeah I forgot, I was facing a 16 year prison sentence and I was told by my military defense attorney; when I requested a deferment of my prison sentence, RADM Leendert R. Hering, (who was the General Courts Martial Convening Authority over my trial) "He wishes that you ROT in jail!"

Now those were extremely harsh words to wish upon someone, anyone, who was never given a FAIR TRAIL!!

Can We have PEACE without knowing how to LOVE?

WTF... I Don't Understand this!! Why is America NOT YET UNITED?!

Ohio teen tweets: ‘Someone needs to assassinate Obama…like ASAP’

Yesterday thegrio.com reported --An Ohio teenager named Alyssa Douglas tweeted last night: “Someone needs to assassinate Obama…like ASAP.”
The 16-year-old’s message encouraging violence against the president was retweeted by several Twitter users around the time that President Barack Obama was giving his speech to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The issue is not being taken lightly, and according to reports from News.Cincinnati, the Clinton Massie School District, where Douglas is a high school student, had a meeting with her and her parents.
The Secret Service is also investigating the threat, and the findings will be reported to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Southern District of Ohio.
